American League East Spring Training Questions

New York Yankees
What nickname will the New York media come up with for the Yankees modern day ‘Murderers Row’? No, but seriously, what nickname to describe Judge, Bird, Stanton, Sanchez?

Baltimore Orioles
Will Manny Machado be an Oriole by the end of camp? Trade rumors swirled around Manny all off-season as the Orioles appear to be amid a rebuild.

Toronto Blue Jays
It is officially the era of the bullpen in major league baseball but who will the Blue Jays settle upon as their inning 6, 7 and 8 guys to get to closer Roberto Osuna? As of February, it appears to be Ryan Tepera, Danny Barnes and Aaron Loup.

Tampa Bay Rays
Which Florida team can race to the bottom faster, the Rays or Marlins? Tampa seems to be trying to outdo Jeter’s Marlins in tanking this season. Is there a once in a generation player who will be available in next year’s amateur draft that we need to investigate?

Boston Red Sox
The defending AL East Champions Red Sox have a new manager in Alex Cora. Is he up to the task of holding off the Yankees in his first managerial stint?

National League West Spring Training Questions

San Diego Padres
Why sign free agent first baseman Eric Hosmer when you already have an all-star first baseman in Wil Myers, especially when you have a roster that has many other needs?

San Francisco Giants
Can the Giants go from worst to first? A lot of new talent has been brought in via trades so the team that manager Bruce Bochy puts on the field will have little resemblance to last year’s squad.

Arizona Diamondbacks
Who will emerge as the starting left fielder and right fielder out of Steven Souza Jr., Jarrod Dyson, David Peralta, Yasmany Tomas and Jeremy Hazelbaker? Will it take two corner outfield spots to replace the production they lost when J.D. Martinez signed with the Red Sox?

Colorado Rockies
How does manager Bud Black prepare his squad to top last year’s performance in a division that, on paper, has become more competitive?

Los Angeles Dodgers
First baseman and 2017 Rookie of the Year Cody Bellinger has bulked up. Will the extra muscle and weight affect his swing and production?

National League Central Spring Training Questions

Chicago Cubs
Is Yu Darvish an upgrade over Jake Arrieta? We won’t know the answer to this question by the end of Spring training, but it is a question worth asking.

Cincinnati Reds
Can starting pitchers Anthony DeSclafani, Homer Bailey and Brandon Finnegan rebound from their 2017 injuries and conclude training camp healthy? And, is Luis Castillo ready to carry the mantle of “Staff Ace”?

St. Louis Cardinals
Is Luke Gregerson a closer? A setup guy for most of his professional career can Luke elevate his game to close games out?

Milwaukee Brewers
Are the Brewers serious pennant contenders? There is a buzz around major league baseball that the Brewers may be this year’s Houston Astros and shock the baseball world. By the end of Spring training we’ll have a good idea if they are contenders or pretenders.

Pittsburgh Pirates
Are the Pirates rebuilding or trying to contend? They trade Andrew McCutchen and Gerrit Cole in what appears to be a roster rebuild but then trade for All-Star Corey Dickerson. We’re confused as to Pittsburgh’s plan for 2018.

National League East Spring Training Questions

With Spring Training underway in Major League baseball, we thought we would take a trip around the bases and raise questions surrounding all thirty teams. It appears that there are going to be a lot of upset baseball fans this season as many team executives have assembled rosters that appear to be more suited for AAA baseball and even AA in some cases.

New York Mets
If Matt Harvey pitches effective in Spring training games, does he break camp with the team or does GM Sandy Alderson move him for prospects or bullpen depth? Sell high Sandy, sell high.

Washington Nationals
Is Nationals neophyte manager Dave Martinez ready to lead what many consider one of the top three teams in the National League?

Atlanta Braves
After Julio Teheran and Brandon McCarthy, what young arms in the Braves system will step up to fill rotation spots 3 through 5? Mike Foltynewicz and Sean Newcomb should compete for two of the top four rotation spots but who will it be out of Luiz Gohara, Max Fried, Lucas Sims, Mike Soroka and Kolby Allard for the fifth spot?

Philadelphia Phillies
Who are these guys? A question new skipper Gabe Kapler is probably asking himself right now.

Miami Marlins
Who goes next? A question that is bantered around the Marlins clubhouse as well as the sport talk airwaves of Miami. New CEO Derek Jeter worked overtime this past offseason to lessen the financial burden on the Marlins by jettisoning the contracts of Giancarlo Stanton, Christian Yelich, Dee Gordon, and Marcell Ozuna.

NHRA Top Fuel Star Leah Pritchett to Drive Dodge Challenger Drag Pak in Full Factory Stock Showdown Schedule

It’s shaping up to be a busy 2018 season for Leah Pritchett. In addition to the Don Schumacher Racing (DSR) star’s responsibilities behind the wheel of her Mopar Dodge//SRT NHRA Top Fuel Dragster, Pritchett will also steer a supercharged Mopar Dodge Challenger Drag Pak in the full slate of 2018 SAM Tech NHRA Factory Stock Showdown events.

Pritchett’s 354-cubic-inch HEMI® engine-powered Drag Pak will be prepped and maintained by the DSR team, led by crew chief and new DSR employee Kevin Helms. Helms brings years of experience driving and tuning a Mopar Dodge Challenger Drag Pak to his new role, including a 2015 NHRA Stock Eliminator World Championship and 2017 NHRA Stock and Super Stock runner-up finishes.

“You should see the smile on my face, whether I’m talking about it or my team is talking about it,” said Pritchett, who in 2018 will also mark her second full year in a Top Fuel dragster. “It’s a dream come true. The double-duty aspect, I had a taste of it last year and honestly, I think it makes me a better racer overall. When we roll out in 2018, the Mopar Dodge Challenger Drag Pak will be put on the track by Don Schumacher Racing, which makes me feel fulfilled in every way. We have proven to have a very competitive racecar, and the goal is to be the quickest and fastest in both silos (Factory Stock and Top Fuel).

“To have a three-time World Champion Sportsman racer like Kevin Helms (as crew chief) is definitely an ace in my pocket, and I’m just being a student of his. We have had a pretty good off-season of development. The test sessions we’ve had, I never experienced a crew chief that was a driver and tuner before, so the dynamic is very exciting and compelling to me. Kevin is definitely a very large asset to the program, which gives me a ton of confidence.”

The first event in the 7 race series is the NHRA Gatornationals, scheduled for March 15-18 in Gainesville, Florida.

Bentley Bentayga Review

For some, “hitting the slopes” is as simple as hopping on daddy’s jet and heading for the family chalet in Vail. After a day of busting your ass on the bunny slopes, you’ll be ready for a night on the town. Obviously, you’ll want the other pretty people to see you driving something appropriately arrogant. A Mercedes G65 AMG would be a good choice, but your mother drives one of those, so no. You can’t have an Escalade because every poser in every town has one. A Land Rover is just too pedestrian. No, you need something that says, “I’m fuck-you rich!”. Like a 2017 Bentley Bentayga…

This stupidly, expensive SUV is made by the Bling-Masters at Bentley, and it’s just dripping with excess. It looks like your dad’s Continental GT from the front, but it’s much bigger, and way more imposing. Behind the massive grille (which resembles a sterling silver…screen door) is a twin-turbo 6.0L W12 (like a V12, but different) that deals 600-hp/664 lb-ft to all four wheels. That’s enough power to effortlessly plow over snow drifts, poor people, whatever gets in your way. It’s also enough grunt to propel this rolling penthouse to 60 mph in 4-seconds dead. If you keep the hammer down, you’ll eventually see a top speed of 187 mph. Not only is that kind of speed completely insane, but it’s enough to earn the 2017 Bentley Bentayga the title of ‘World’s Fastest Production SUV’.

Fun Fact: For an extra $170,000, Bentley will install a Breitling Mulliner Tourbillion dash clock. Complete with a sold 18k yellow or white gold case, 8 real diamonds in the face, a titanium movement cage, and a novel self-winding feature. Three times every 15 minutes, a low-volt electric mechanism will literally spin the entire clock around to wind the movement. Or, you can press a button and watch your passenger’s heads spin with your…6-figure clock.

Besides the ticket-attracting pavement power, this Bentley SUV can actually traverse moderately difficult terrain. The full-time AWD system (an advanced version of Audi’s Quattro system) employs a Torsen center differential to shuffle power between the axles, and there’s a plethora of on/off road driving modes to maximize traction and power application. Despite the Bentayga’s 5,400 lb. curb weight, it can maneuver itself over/through obstacles quite admirably. This is thanks to the standard air suspension, which can extend itself to provide nearly 10-inches of ground clearance. And the sway bars can even disconnect themselves to allow an impressive 9 inches of wheel travel.

But honestly, do you care how your quarter-million-dollar chick magnet gets you down your snow-covered driveway? No. Because you just want to get home and chill with the hot lingerie model you just picked up at the club…
