God, we love the opening in the production notes from the studio. “Ever cruise Sunset Boulevard in a stretch limousine, and then hit the red carpet at a star-studded movie premiere? Stop by an impromptu party on the beach in Malibu, where the sun always shines and the cocktails flow? Score the best table at the hottest restaurant in town, no reservation required? And all the while, everywhere you go, gorgeous starlets wave as you pass by. It’s everybody’s fantasy to live the Hollywood dream,…” Yes, this is how we are introduced to Entourage the Movie. However, it could very well as sum up the Kandy Life except replace “a star-studded movie premiere” with “a celebrity and athlete studded swimsuit issue release party”. I guess our lives as Average Joe’s is not really that different than those of Hollywood stars. How about that? Now, about that movie …

First off, we are huge Entourage fans. And the movie set for release in US theaters June 3rd encompasses all our all-time favorite characters. Of course, the main crew is back – Vince, Turtle, Eric aka “E” and Drama – along with super agent-turned-studio head Ari Gold. Rex Lee resumes his role as Lloyd and he is joined by Entourage all-star cast members Billy Walsh played by Rhys Coiro, Sloan played by Emanuelle Chriqui, Vince’s publicist Shauna played by Debi Mazar, and Ari’s antagonist Dana Gordon played by Constance Zimmer. Unfortunately, based on what we’ve seen father time has not been kind to any of the ladies which is why maybe the studio brought in fresh talent such as Emily Ratakjkowski and Ronda Rousey, who really isn’t our cup of tea. And, as far as we are concerned ,they got the first name right on Emily, but the last name wrong, as in it should have been Kandy girl Emily Sears lighting up that big screen in your local metropolis.

As far as the plot is concerned, hey!; it’s Entourage. You know what you are getting. Crazy, frat boy antics, Ari yelling and screaming, Eric trying to balance life with Sloan – his on-again, off-again girlfriend and mother of his pending child – with the bachelor antics of Vince, Johnny Drama being well … Johnny Drama, and Turtle, surprising no longer trying to be Vince Jr but his own man – a tequila tycoon millionaire who still drives Vince around despite probably having more money than his fellow Entourage members.  We love what writer/director/producer Doug Ellin, who created the hit HBO series on which the movie is based, said,  “I wanted to take it to another level for the movie, so it’s ‘Entourage’ on steroids, with glamorous yachts, planes and houses …”

“Entourage” opens on the familiar trio of manager-cum-movie producer Eric, drive-cum-tequila mogul Turtle, and still sometime working actor Drama. But this time they’re navigating the wide-open sea in a speed boat, their destination a huge luxury yacht off the coast of Ibiza, where Vince, rising actor-turned-megastar, “mourns” the demise of his five-day marriage, surrounded by 200 or so of his closest acquaintances…mainly of the scantily clad female variety. But it wouldn’t be a party without his boys, and clearly the party is back on. If you want to know more, we suggest you buy your ticket in advance and clear your calendar with your lady as June 3rd is all about the bro’s, bro (as Johnny Drama would maybe say).
